Raining Blessings On A Book Tour From Miami, New York City to LONDON!
#TrueStory of Determination – Queen Mother Dr. Delois Blakely was such a blessing to me while I was in New York City. You may not have heard of her but she’s the woman Whoopi Goldberg played in the Disney movie Sister Act; the film made over $250 million dollars at the box office. It just so happens that Queen Mother wrote a book that was turned into the box office hit, but she didn’t get paid a dollar. Needless to say there is a pending lawsuit.
Queen Mother gave me a simple mission – get here to New York on July 31st to meet her interns and the Ambassador of the African Union Tete Antonio. It just so happens that my assistant couldn’t book my ticket so I booked it myself with for the wrong departure date. This caused me to book a whole new flight leaving West Palm Beach instead of Fort Lauderdale International Airport. I caught a flight to the Big Apple right after my interview on HOT TALK with Jill Tracey. I took a metro bus and then a shuttle bus, caught the B Train, walked 2 miles to the hostel (my first time using one). All the while I had heavy luggage in hand, took a quick shower to get in my suit like I was SUPERMAN, and then finally hopped in a cab to the African Union, which is next door to the United Nations headquarters. All of this effort was well worth it!!
And guess what?! Not only was I on time – I was early!!
The next day I was able to meet Queen Mother’s whole team of interns in her organization, New Future Generation. Each and every one of these interns was a graduate student from different parts of the world. She paid for me to do a DNA test with Ancestry.com. It’s unfortunate she could possibly lose her home (contact me if interested in helping her save it by donating to her).
I sacrificed a lot financially and physically to get to New York on that day. I’ve been to New York before back in 2009 but I didn’t have two books published, 7 Types of Queens, Kings Desire or Courage To Believe book and documentary. I didn’t have my clothing line, One Woman/Man Army or my 501(c)3 Courage To Believe International. This time I came fully loaded and fully prepared to take over New York!! Queen Mother was able to get me into the United Nations Intergeneration Conference using her magic (use the hashtag #NGODialogues to follow the action). If I had to do it again – I would. I made new friends and made some major international connects with whom I hope do business with in the near future.
My new book, 7 Types of Queens, Kings Desire, opened a RAIN OF BLESSINGS while in NYC. While on my #10KBooksChallence in the city that never sleeps, I was invited to come back and speak at three different universities in New York and an all-girls group. I don’t plan on stopping or slowing down my determination to see my dreams come true. I hope to have the same great experience when I go to London for the Kings & Queens Book Tour.
