Focus On The Community With Kevin Dorival
Kevin Dorival wears many hats: author, mentor, inspirational speaker, internet marketing consultant. Kevin grew up in the 1980’s drug boom, his neighborhood was infested with drugs and crime. He was encouraged to spend most of his childhood in school, church and sports. At 21, he arrived, unfortunately at a negative point in his life. He wanted more. Coupled with his desire and a lack of a positive male role model in his life, he was led down a dark path filled with trouble that landed him in jail. Only as a result of God’s grace he realized that he needed to change his surroundings. It was a critical time, if he was to achieve the goals that the wanted to obtain for his life, changes had to have been made. In time, he did turn over a new leaf, which now allows him to empower teenagers and young adults to have the courage to believe in their God given talents. He stated: “I stand on Proverbs 10:22, The Blessings of the Lord shall make you rich and add no sorrow.”
As a keynote speaker he gives inspirational speeches at churches, schools, and other various organizations. He often says, “If you can change your thoughts then you can change your world!” In 2013, he published his first book, an inspirational autobiography, “The Courage To Believe,” and turned it into an amazing stage play; also, he is in the process of developing it into a game-changing documentary. He is traveling around the country capturing and documenting powerful stories of people in prison as well as, people with professional careers who have inspirational stories of how they overcame adversity in their lives. Kevin has hopes of using this film to encourage our youth to make consistent positive choices in life. He is raising $19,000.00 to make this film into a reality.
