“I Wish I Could Vote”
The biggest political show on earth is about to come to an end – The 2012 Presidential Election. Democrats are barking at the opposition and the Republicans are pulling every trick in the book to snatch a victory. Truth of the matter is I can’t vote. I lost my right to vote when my civil liberties were stripped away in 2002. It’s been ten years since I’ve been a free man and out of the justice system. Believe it or not there are millions of ex-cons that can’t vote. We just sit back and listen to the issues while everyone else gets to cast their ballots.

Even though I can’t vote at the ballot box I vote with my money and so can you. One way is by supporting minority owned businesses. Yes, I’m black and I’m proud [in my James Brown voice], however I believe in supporting my community, especially since I understand both the struggle and the victory. President Obama is putting up a good fight but to be honest where’s the fruit? Being a black entrepreneur those words shouldn’t be coming out of my mouth but has things really gotten that much better? Well there isn’t a noticeable improvement in my community, which consists of Haitian-Americans and African-Americans.
6 Million People Don’t Have The Right To Vote In America
Wish I could vote in this 2012 presidential election. I’ve been waiting for quite some time to be eligible for my civil liberty rights. According to the famous NPR.com, an article stated that there are “6 million people don’t have that right to vote — and about 1.5 million of them live in Florida.” Wouldn’t mind getting my gun license, as well. As a man I truly feel that its important to be able to meet violence that is at your doorsteps with ferocious. There are too many knuckle heads running around with evil spirits, mindsets and intentions.

Nevertheless, there really hasn’t been a barrier preventing me from working in my career as an Internet Marketing Consultant. Thank God! I get paid fairly well and the demand for someone with my skill set is extremely high. Many men and women that I know with a criminal record can’t find meaningful work. The solution to that is to create your own job experience. Do what I did, start your own business and network. I started an Internet marketing company, Sky View Marketing.Net, and gained valuable knowledge which resulted in quality experience. When my business slowed down drastically during the 2008 economic crash I was able to jump right into the job market. Within no time I found a company that hired me in their corporate office as eMarketing Manager; I managed over 60 websites and created over 150 social media accounts. Having a bachelor’s degree has been a blessing in this storm as well. Maybe by the time the next election comes up I’ll be running to the voting poles in 2016. Until then I’ll just be working on my next best seller while selling 40 million books of my inspirational true story, The Courage To Believe.
